Post Fastening floating wall to I joist

Hi Tony,
Great site.
I'm finishing my basement in Denver with floating walls.
I am attaching the top plate of the wall directly to the bottom flange of the I joists with screws. Are there any concerns about damaging the structural integrity of the I joist by doing this? The joists are Pacific Woodtech PWI 47. They look similar to the joists in your photos. In the installation instructions for this particular joist it says "Suspended loads should generally be attached to the joist web through filler blocks. Light loads may be suspended from the bottom flange. Refer to the building designer’s installation instructions" http://www.pacificwoodtech.com/uploads/PWI_Joist_Master_021_Installation_Notes.pdf
Thanks very much.

No concerns at all that I'm aware of! This method is used all the time and I used screws attached directly to the bottom flange to hang my soffits as well!

Let us know if you have any other questions and best of luck in your basement finish project!
