Post Identifying and Using Basement Stub Ups

Hey All,
I'm in the middle of framing out my basement and about to start some pony walls in the bathroom, but I want to make sure I'm using the space correctly. Can you help me identify the 4 stub ups in my slab, and how to tie into them? I'm assuming the right is the shower drain, the middle is the toilet, middle left is sink drain and far left (black) is the cleanout. So where is the vent, and how do I tie into that?

It looked like a PVC pipe coming about 2' out of the slab with a white pointed cap on the top with some vent holes around the bottom of the cap. I did not have to tie into or worry about it as it was already setup.

I may be wrong here but from what I can remember from my inspection it could already be vented out other places as well (i.e. your roof). Have a look around your basement and see if you can find one of those vents. Mine was located under my stairs.

Found a picture! You can see it there in the bottom right, the black PVC pipe with the white cap on top. It was probably more like 20' away from my bathroom rough-ins.

Thanks Tony! That's a huge help; I found mine as well, located near my furnace. Follow up question though: my inspector noted on my basement plan that I needed a backwater valve at my bathroom plumbing (of course), with permanent access. Would you assume that the backwater valve is under that black cleanout cap?

If that vent stack was 20 feet away then I am assuming you didn't connect any of the bathroom fixtures to it. Was the inspector OK with this? Did you have to use that another white cap which is actually an Air admittance valves(AAV)?

Cal, could you please share info on how your inspection went.

That is correct. I did not have to do any extra work with my vent as it was already sufficient and met code. I'm no expert on venting, but I believe the vent in my photo was already tied into my basement system and was installed correctly. I didn't ask many questions about the venting, as the inspector was fine with the setup.

The white cap on my PVC pipe I believe is an Air Admittance Valve (AAV). From what I can tell in some quick research, this AAV valve is required if you are not venting through the roof, which is exactly what I had in my situation.
