Howdy, First off Tony, love the site!

I've been working on framing my walls here in Aurora CO. I'm going with a 3" gap so I can just pop a couple of 2x4 scraps between the PT and base plate and nail the wall to the floor joist and everything is good so far. However, I've come to some spots where I can't hit 100% of the floor joist so I'm connecting with sofit and banding.

The problem I'm running into is that in some spots if I remove the 2x4 scraps the weight of the wall will drop a little, never more than 3/8". In most cases I wouldn't consider this a huge issue until I get around a door way or window. Even then I'm not sure what will happen when the weight of the drywall is attached.

What, if anything would you recommend? Construction adhesive to the top plat and floor joist, even more nails?

Thanks!

Tony

Hey MileHighWelch!

Hmmm, trying to visualize this but I can't quite see it. Do you have any pictures you could upload by chance?!?
